Please read this page carefully before using eircicai.org. By reading our articles, you agree to the terms below.

General Information Only

Everything on eircicai.org — articles, guides, tables, examples, calculators — is published for general information purposes only.

Our content is not professional tax advice, legal advice, financial advice, or accounting advice. It is educational material written to help you understand tax topics better. Reading an article on this site does not create any advisor-client relationship between you and us, or between you and any of our writers.

Tax is personal. The right deduction for your neighbor might be wrong for you. The right ITR form for a freelancer might be wrong for a salaried employee with rental income. Our articles explain the general rules — they cannot account for the specific details of your income, investments, family situation, or business structure.

Tax Laws Change Frequently

Indian tax law changes every year. The annual Budget can alter slabs, rates, thresholds, and deductions. Notifications during the year can change procedures and deadlines. Court rulings can change how rules are interpreted.

We try hard to keep our content current. Every article shows its publication date and last-updated date. When we learn about a change, we update the relevant articles. But there will always be some gap between a law changing and our article being updated.

Because of this, you should always verify important tax information against official sources before acting on it:

If something in our article conflicts with what an official source says, the official source wins. Always.

No Guarantee of Accuracy or Completeness

We work hard to get things right. We check section numbers against official texts, verify thresholds against notifications, and cross-reference when sources disagree. But we are human, and tax law is complicated.

We do not guarantee that our content is:

  • Complete. An article about 80C deductions cannot cover every edge case, exception, and special situation. We cover the common cases that apply to most readers.
  • Current. As explained above, laws change. An article that was 100% correct in January might need updates by July.
  • Applicable to you. General rules have exceptions. Your age, residential status, income type, or state might change what applies to you.
  • Error-free. Despite our review process, mistakes can slip through. If you spot one, please tell us at contact@eircicai.org so we can fix it.

Consult a Qualified Professional

For decisions that affect your money, talk to a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or tax professional who can look at your specific situation.

This is especially important if:

  • Your income comes from multiple sources (salary + business + investments, for example)
  • You have foreign income or assets
  • You are dealing with a tax notice, scrutiny, or dispute
  • You are making a large financial decision based on tax implications (like selling property or choosing a business structure)
  • Something in our article does not quite match your situation and you are unsure why

A good CA does more than file your return — they understand the details that generic articles cannot cover. The fee you pay for professional advice is small compared to the cost of a tax mistake.

No Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, eircicai.org and its writers, owners, and contributors are not liable for any loss, damage, or penalty that results from using our content.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Tax paid in excess because of outdated or incorrect information
  • Penalties or interest charged by tax authorities
  • Missed deadlines based on dates mentioned in our articles
  • Financial decisions made relying on our guides, examples, or calculators
  • Any other direct or indirect loss connected to using this website

We publish this content in good faith and with reasonable care, but you use it at your own risk. If you are unsure about anything, verify with official sources or consult a CA before acting.

External Links

Our articles link to external websites — official government portals, news articles, tools, and references. We link to these because they are useful, not because we control them.

We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of external websites. When you click a link and leave eircicai.org, that site’s own terms and policies apply. If an external link is broken or leads somewhere unexpected, please let us know.

Calculators and Tools

If we publish tax calculators or interactive tools, please understand their limits:

  • They are simplified models, not exact replicas of the tax computation process.
  • They may not account for surcharge, cess, marginal relief, or special provisions that apply to your case.
  • The result is an estimate to help you understand the ballpark — not the exact amount you owe.
  • Always verify important numbers with official calculators or a CA before filing.

eircicai.org may display advertisements through programs like Google AdSense. Here is what that means:

  • Ads are separate from content. Our articles are written independently. Advertisers do not influence what we write, which topics we cover, or what we recommend.
  • We do not endorse advertised products. Seeing an ad for a tax filing service or investment product on our site is not our recommendation to use it. Evaluate advertised products on your own.
  • Ad content is Google’s responsibility. When we use Google AdSense, Google decides which ads to show based on their own systems. We do not individually approve each ad.

If we ever publish sponsored content or accept payment to feature a product, we will label it clearly as sponsored. We do not currently do this.
